Black Cat
Don’t drag your luggage around from the Airport, or around crowded cities. We recommend having your luggage and skiing gear sent via the “Black Cat” courier service direct from the airport to Black Pine Lodge – it’s quick, reliable and easy to do. Just look for the “Black Cat” counter at the airport, leave your luggage there and it will be delivered to the lodge! The turnaround time to and from all Airports is 48 hours and from most major cities, including Tokyo, is usually only 24 hours.

Highway Bus – 5.5 hours
This is a very easy way to get to Hakuba with only one connection before arriving at Happo. From Narita Airport simply follow the orange signs for the Friendly Airport Limousine Bus. They leave every 20 minutes. Take the Airport Limousine Bus to Shinjuku Bus Terminal – just over 1 hour depending on Tokyo traffic. Then take the Highway Bus from Shinjuku Bus Terminal to Happo Bus Terminal (1 stop after Hakuba Station) – (4.5 hours)

By Car to Hakuba
From Tokyo
There are two options from Tokyo to get to Hakuba by car
- Take the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway. Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 &148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba. (4hrs)
- Take the Kanetsu Expressway to the Fujioka J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Joshinetsu Expressway. Exit at the Nagano Interchange and follow the Hakuba Nagano Olympic Road to Hakuba. (4hrs)
From Nagoya – 3.5hrs
- Take the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T and head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway.
- Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 & 148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba.
From Osaka or Kyoto – 5.5hrs
- Take the Meishin Expressway to the Komki J.C.T
- Head up the Chuo Expressway to the Okaya J.C.T
- Head towards Nagano on the Nagano Expressway
- Exit at the Toyoshina Interchange and follow Rte 147 & 148 through Omachi and onto Hakuba.
- Remember to bring chains and make sure your radiator has antifreeze.
By Train to Hakuba
Black Pine Lodge can provide free pick-up from Hakuba Station and Hakuba Bus Terminal. Let us know at least the day before you intend to arrive and just call +81 5055 397 561 when you arrive at the bus or train station.

From Narita Airport
Passengers transferring from Narita Airport board the Narita Express to Tokyo or Shinjuku Station. Frequent departures from airport rail terminal. Travelling time to Tokyo (1hr)
From Tokyo (Option 1)
Departing from Tokyo Station to Nagano passengers board the Nagano Bullet Train (Asama Shinkansen). Travelling time 1.30hrs. The bullet trains run regularly throughout the day.
From Nagano Station
- Buses from Nagano to Hakuba run every hour, with the last bus departing for Hakuba at 8:20 pm. (Friday night 9.20pm TBC, please check Timetable).
- Alpico bus cost per person 2200 yen one way.
- Buses depart from the East (Higashi) exit of Nagano Station from bus stop 6.

From Shinjuku (Tokyo option 2)
Catch the Chuo limited express (Super Azusa) departs from Shinjuku Station and travels directly to Hakuba. Travelling time 3.50hrs
From Nagoya
Catch the Chuo limited express (Shinano) departs from Nagoya Station and travels to Hakuba via Matsumoto. Travelling time 3.30hrs
From Osaka or Kyoto
Departing Osaka or Kyoto catch the Sanyo Shinkansen to Nagoya and transfer to the Chuo limited express (Shinano) departs from Nagoya Station and travels directly to Hakuba. Travelling time 4.30hrs
Direct Shared Taxi between Nagano Station and Hotels in Hakuba
The shared taxi between Hakuba and Nagano station is now available at a reasonable price in wintertime. You can transfer to the hotel of your choice
